No medieval scribe or illuminator had ever possibility to see as many manuscripts as we can today. The manuscripts used to be the most precious treasures of the monasteries; one had to travel a lot to see particular examples in situ. Today almost every library is digitalised and we may enjoy thousands of medieval manuscripts and miniatures on-line, without leaving our homes.
Where to look exactly? Which libraries have the most valuable collections? How to search for particular image, initial or marginal decoration? How to use foreign language search machines?
I invite you to join my workshop called E-SCRIBE on October 16th at Atelier Landowska&Bodziony.
